MBA without GMAT in Australia

Did you know that MBA graduates from Australian universities get the second highest salaries in the world? In fact, they are the highest paid MBA graduates in Asia Pacific. What's probably even better news for you is that several of these well ranked Australian universities accept applicants without GMAT scores.

Why don't they require GMAT scores? Because these universities, along with many others worldwide, acknowledge that the GMAT may not necessarily be the best indication of an applicant's aptitude for the MBA.

This view is very popular in Australia and applicants without GMAT scores are accepted by several well known, well ranked universities including Monash University (which is a member of the prestigious Group of Eight) and Macquarie University (which was recently ranked as the top MBA program in Australia by the Financial Times).

MBA recognition and industry ties

As you can see from the list, most these courses are very well ranked globally. In fact, the average salaries of MBA graduates from two of these business schools, namely, Monash University and La Trobe University, are reported to be among the top 10 in Australia.

Similarly, the Macquarie MBA has been recognised as #2 in the world for salary increases after the MBA course.

You should also know that several universities in the list have strong ties with companies and the industry. A good example is RMIT University. The MBA at RMIT University gives you hands-on learning experiences and, more importantly, direct links to the senior members of partner organisations which currently includes Telstra, Siemens and Prudential Investment Company of Australia (PICA).

Admission requirements

So what criteria do these universities use?

Although the admission requirement for each university differs, the minimum criteria only varies marginally. The universities take a holistic view of your application and if you don't have a GMAT score then the main criteria that they use to assess your application will typically be the marks you have secured in your Bachelor's degree and/or your work experience. The amount of work experience that you require varies from university to university and you will even need to show evidence of managerial work experience for some universities.
